Bright Beginnings

After the baby quilt donation project I had a few more ideas, and I wanted to make a few quilts ahead so there wouldn't be such a mad scramble for the next project.
The pattern came from the same Fons and Porter book pictured in Carnival Midway.

The fabric is a fat quarter bundle that I bought at a quilt show. The pink used in the side borders and for the back was another one of Mother's fantastic red tag sale finds. This pink fabric is really good quality and quilts like a dream! We used it in another project and have more left for future quilts.

This is the first time I used 100% polyester batting. It is a nice weight and looks great in the finished quilt, but it's a bit harder to use.

Size: 41" x 49" Baby Size
Quilting: Flower design using light pink thread (Omni from Superior Threads). Free form quilting.
Backing: Bright pink cotton print used in side borders
Batting: 100% Polyester
Binding: Brown cotton white dotted print
Pattern: From Fons and Porter 'Easy Quilts'; a pattern called 'Jukebox'
