As Time Goes By (Spinning Rails)



The Label

The name comes from a British TV program that Mother, Daddy and Sally enjoy watching on PBS.

Size: 90" x 90" Double-bed size
Quilting: Loopy design using light beige thread (Omni from Superior Threads).
Backing: Multi-colored cotton print, purchased at a red tag fabric sale. Mother knows how to pick the best bargains!
Batting: 80% Cotton 20% Polyester (Warm and White)
Binding: Red-brown plain fabric
Pattern: Spinning Rails from Fons and Porter Quilting July/August 2004
Piecing begun 2004-2005 by Mother. Quilting on long arm quilter April to May, 2012 (Patty) Binding by Mother. QC by Spencer. This one took a while to bind, because we had other projects including house guests.

I have included several example blocks in order to admire the range of scraps. Some came from Penny's family and some from dresses Mother made Tata and Auntie Bernice.
