Autumn Rose 1

I saw this pattern in a new quilting book and thought of this fabric that I had already purchased from an Internet sale. I like whole cloth quilts and like what the author says about them. At first whole cloth quilts were only for rich people who could afford to use a whole piece of material for a blanket. Later time became worth more than money and now these sort of quilts are considered 'utility' blankets for everyday use. How many utility quilts, comforts and blankets did my grandmother Tata have? She could make more beds at Christmas time for visiting family than anyone I've ever known.

Mother does not like the asymmetry of this one. She would prefer having equal panels on each side. I love asymmetrical things, so I think this is quite pretty.

This quilt was QC'd by Coco, a small dog with a huge personality that we were dog sitting whilst his mom was in El Salvador. He was a real joy to have around for a few weeks. I miss him.

This quilt will go into the donation box. It was given to Hope House February 2013.
