Nature’s Bounty Table Runner

I made this table runner for Narinder’s sister, Ravinder. The name comes from the name of the fat quarter bundle I used. The pattern came from the internet, “Amy Smart’s Patchwork Forest”.

• 18” x 40”
• Quilting: Quilted stitch in the ditch. Used goldenrod 100% cotton thread (Aurifil). Quilting by Patty.
• Backing: Dark floral print from Patty’s inventory. the same backing used for the fall table runner I made earlier.
• Batting: 100% cotton. A piece left from my closet, a leftover from an earlier quilt.
• Binding: Goldenrod from Patty’s inventory.
• Pattern: From the internet, “Amy Smart’s Patchwork Forest”
• Sewing by Patty.
• Quilting on domestic machine (Patty). 
• Binding by Patty.

Aunt Linda’s Christmas Quilt

Aunt Linda sent a queen bed sized quilt top and back that she pieced from Christmas fabric. Overall, the quilt is gorgeous!  

The quilting was delayed by my Covid and Covid rebound illnesses. But, finally, I got it started.

The thread kept breaking at first which I attributed to the metallic printing on the backing fabrics. I switched to a larger, titanium coated needle and the problem was solved.

The back was built from squares of fabric, sashing, and cornerstones. It measured square, but the bottom back did not turn out as even as I would have wanted. I need to study about longarming with built backs.

• 70” x 80" Queen bed sized
• Quilted in wavy lines to resemble hanging boughs (garlands or swag) used for Christmas decorations. Used light tan thread “Light Tan” Omni brand 100% polyester from Superior Threads. Free form quilting. 11 bobbins. Quilting by Patty.
• Backing: A built back made from large squares of fabric with sashing and cornerstones. The backing was supplied by Aunt Linda.
• Batting: 100% cotton “Quilter’s Dream Cotton Select” by Quilter’s Dream.
• Binding: To be done by Aunt Linda
• Pattern: Designed by Aunt Linda
• Piecing by Aunt Linda
• Pinned into frame November 15, 2023. Quilting on long arm quilter November 16-18, 2023. (Patty).

Diwali Table Runner

This is my last attempt at flange binding. I am going back to regular binding after this, even if I have to spend time basting it!

The internet says Diwali colors are red, yellow, blue, and magenta. I put the squares in a box, mixed them up, and pulled at random to make the rows. Surprise! The random draw worked out!

• 16 1/2“ x 60 1/2”
• Quilting: Quilted stitch in the ditch. Used goldenrod 100% cotton thread (Aurifil). Quilting by Patty.
• Backing: Dark blue and aqua geometric (circles) print from Patty’s inventory.
• Batting: 100% cotton. Quilter’s Dream Cotton Request, thinnest loft.
• Binding: Goldenrod and blue solids from Patty’s inventory.
• Pattern: Rectangles cut from a fabrics in Patty’s stash.
• Sewing by Patty.
• Quilting on domestic machine (Patty).
