Donna’s Christmas Log Cabin

• Size:  86 1/2" x 91 1/2"  Queen bed size.
• Quilting: Quilted in loose free form stipple, with 5-pointed stars in the center of log cabin blocks. Used variegated red/white/green 100% polyester thread (Omni-V from Superior Threads-named "Silent Night"). 9 bobbins. Quilting by Patty.
• Backing: Strips of red print, green print, red, green, white diagonal strip, green print, and red print. I tried to get some of red print on both ends, but either my measurements or my calculations were off. The last red strip will be cut off entirely.
• Batting: 100% cotton, Warm and Natural. Batting supplied by Donna
• Piecing and design by Donna. Center part of log cabin 4 1/2” wide by 4” long. Therefore, blocks are slightly wider than long. Quilt is 8 blocks wide and 9 blocks long.
• Pinned into frame April 24, 2019. Quilting on long arm quilter April 26-29, 2019. (Patty).

Donna’s Christmas Squares

• Size:  86" x 86"  Queen bed size.
• Quilting: Quilted in loose free form fingers and blobby shapes, with occasional pine trees. Used bright green 100% polyester thread (Omni from Superior Threads-named "Greensleeves"). 10 bobbins. Quilting by Patty.
• Backing: Bright-green cotton with a red and white print center strip. Back supplied by Donna. Center strip is a Christmas design.
• Batting: 100% cotton, white. Batting supplied by Donna
• Piecing and design by Donna.

Donna’s Christmas Star

Donna sent a few Christmas quilt tops, batting, and backs for me to quilt for her. This is the first one, a big Christmas star. I chose a gold colored thread because there is a lot of gold in the fabrics. The gold thread was really pretty on this one. I was happy with the choice.
