The Back
Aunt Linda made this quilt using scraps from her Mother Board quilt and following instructions she saw in an MSQC Jenny Doan tutorial video. It’s so pretty, I think I’ll have to make one with this pattern. I looked up the video and saw they quilted the example in an overall, loose meandering loop-de-loop with an occasional butterfly. So, I decided to do the same quilting style on Aunt Linda’s quilt. I went to the internet and Googled “butterfly outlines” and I found plenty of butterflies to choose from. I selected one, made a plastic template, and I was ready to go! The butterfly was so successful, I think I’ll use this quilting style on other quilts. Aunt Linda used a soft “shot cotton” for the back. It quilted like a dream. She chose a purple thread to match the color of the back.
