A Breed Apart

I made a whole cloth quilt for Cynthia. I conceived this one when she was under the weather, but with all the things going on at my parents' house, I didn't get it done until this summer. Cynthia likes golden retrievers and this quilt features a golden retriever print. While I quilted I listened to a "Summer of Love" playlist. The "Summer of Love" was 1967, 50 years ago, and the same summer we moved from Arizona to Redwood City. I was in high school and too distracted by my own trauma to notice what wad going on in San Francisco. I did have my dad bring home the Haight-Ashbury free paper (his office was in San Francisco) in an attempt to be "groovy". I was never groovy, not then or ever. Nevertheless, I thought the correct reading material would help my status. Sigh!
