Fall Table Runner

This was my second attempt at flange binding. The first attempt was better. Hopefully the third time is the charm! I gave this runner to Narinder’s mother. 

• 13 1/2“ x 62 1/2”
• Quilting: Quilted stitch in the ditch. Used off-white 100% cotton thread (Aurifil). Quilting by Patty.
• Backing: Dark floral print from Patty’s inventory.
• Batting: 100% cotton. Quilter’s Dream Cotton Request, thinnest loft.
• Binding: Goldenrod and yellow solids from Patty’s inventory.
• Pattern: Squares and rectangles cut from a fall colored jelly roll.
• Sewing by Patty.
• Quilting on domestic machine (Patty). 
• Binding by Patty. 
• QC by Patty.

Day of the Dead Ofrenda Runner

I saw cute skull planters containing succulents for Day of the Dead at Trader Joe’s. They were so cute I had to buy a few. I came home and in my e-mail was a video from Misty at MSQC about a cute one day project for an ofrenda table runner. Ha! The one day project was 4 good days of work. But the result was cute.

I tried a flange binding for the first time, with acceptable but not great results. I’ll try again.

• 12 1/2“ x 61”
• Quilting: Quilted with straight and diagonal lines. Used off-white 100% cotton thread (Aurifil). Quilting by Patty.
• Backing: Dark blue and aqua geometric print from Patty’s inventory
• Batting: 100% cotton. Quilter’s Dream Cotton Request, thinnest loft.
• Binding: Magenta and goldenrod solids from Patty’s inventory.
• Pattern: MSQC video

Aunt Janet’s Quilt

Aunt Janet sent a quilt for me to finish. It’s a small lap quilt.

• 38” x 55" lap size
• Quilted in all over loop-de-loops. Used light brown thread “Sandstone” Omni brand 100% polyester from Superior Threads. Free form quilting. 4 bobbins. Quilting by Patty.
• Backing: Sage green cotton flannel supplied by Aunt Janet.
• Batting: 100% cotton. Quilter’s Dream Cotton Request, thinnest loft.
• Binding: Dusty pink floral print from my stash, last used on Cousin Laura’s Sunbonnet Sue quilt.
• Pattern: Squares with coordinating rectangles in 2 borders.

• Pinned into frame September 27, 2023. Quilting on long arm quilter September 28, 2023. (Patty).
