Lady Behind the Quilt
Narinder’s friends are having a baby. I got late notice when a thank-you card arrived for a baby gift Narinder gave them. However, I decided to make a quilt, too. This one came from a recent Block magazine devoted to baby quilts. I made it one row longer than the pattern. I love the layer cake I used for the blocks. It’s so bright and cheery, leading to the name for this quilt, “Hello and Cheerio.” Overall, it’s a happy quilt. I felt happy working on it and the days I spent sewing and quilting it were generally cheerful for me. I like the inner border that is the same color as the background. It gives the appearance of the blocks floating on a sea of white. I need to employ this border design on more quilts. The couple having the baby are the people for whom I made the “Patches” quilt in 2014. See blog in November 2014.
